Upwork.com

  • Universally known for freelancing jobs, Upwork.com is the world’s largest freelancing site. People from all over the world are free to advertise their skills in different fields and talents and earn money by referring people.
  • You can also find it as an ideal platform for advertising your products. If you’re looking for a short-term work-from-home job, Upwork is your one-stop shop for free job listings and competitive hourly rates. You’ll be able to start generating money on Upwork in no time if you’re clever about the job search process and know your worth and prices, just as you would on any other employment site.
  • You might be able to create a full-time income with Upwork if you put in the effort. Working for Upwork is far less difficult than many people believe. This platform functions similarly to a job board in that it connects potential clients with freelancers. If you’re a freelancer or have recently become one as a result of a job loss, you should check out Upwork.com to see if anyone is hiring for gigs that you’d be good at.
  • Sanket Abhay Desai, a digital marketing consultant in Herndon, Virginia, claims that Upwork has provided him with a lot of work. Desai explains, “Upwork is essentially a global ‘e-lancing’ platform where businesses and freelancers from all over the world can connect and collaborate on certain projects.” “In most cases, businesses can use freelancers for a variety of services. This covers things like writing, site design, and executing SEO campaigns, among other things.”

Fiverr

  • If you have some existing talents and skills and are looking for people to pay you for them on Fiverr, then you can generate some extra cash. The platform allows you to create a webpage that could be seen by millions and you would be paid per view.
  • This is another popular website that freelancers may find useful. Do you have any experience with digital animation? You can earn some extra money by working for someone who lacks these talents.
  • Even better, for quick pay, you might offer to gather web research for someone. According to Dan Bochichio, a web designer and digital strategist in Albany, New York, who runs a two-person company called Bocain Designs, the site can make you a lot of money. He claims that Fiverr brings in $3,000 to $5,000 a month for his company.
  • You should make sure your Fiverr profile and gig descriptions are carefully written and reflect the value of the services you are giving to stay ahead of the competition.” Fiverr is a terrific way to supplement income if you have the necessary skills and can provide excellent service. If you believe you have what it takes to provide high-quality services, Fiverr can let you earn as much money as you want while doing what you love from anywhere in the world.
  • Gigs can now be purchased for up to $995. According to a recent Priceonomics survey, 96.3 percent of Fiverr vendors earn less than $500 per month, with the majority (70 percent) earning less than $100. Only about 1% of sellers earn $2,000 or more per month, according to estimates.

Etsy

  • Etsy is an online marketplace that allows crafters to showcase and sell handmade products. Etsy is the place to market your stuff if you’re artistic and can design unique jewelry or refrigerator magnets. The amount of money you make on Etsy is determined by several factors, including the amount of time you put in, the uniqueness of your product, the demand for it, and how successfully you advertise yourself. Some people earn a consistent $50 each month, while others make a full-time living selling on Etsy.

TaskRabbit.com

  • Many people nowadays have the opportunity to make some extra money through TaskRabbit. This service is available all around the world. You just need to apply online and get matched with a Tasker in your city.
  • You need to do some basic tasks to be paid. You can also report any issues to Tasker and they will resolve them on their own.
  • Are you willing to get your hands dirty to help others? People use this service to find people who are eager to help them with things like putting together a bookcase, cleaning their garage, or running errands. You can do as many chores as you desire, and this may turn into full-time (or part-time) employment.
  • The average month’s pay for a Tasker is around $110. While this is the average, it does not imply that it is the only option. Some Taskers earn as much as $6,000 to $7,000 a month, and some as much as $12,000 in a single month.

Wonder

  • askwWonder.com is a trustworthy website for personal or professional services, seminars and conferences, internet marketing services, and more.
  • When people need research done, they flock to this site. Although Wonder does not hire just anyone, you are welcome to apply. According to the website, the procedure takes roughly five minutes. You’ll gain access to Wonder’s dashboard if Wonder believes you have the skills to conduct a study.
  • After that, you can choose to respond to a question posed by a business executive or a book author.
  • Researchers claim to earn between $8 and $16 for every detailed answer, while job sites claim that researchers can earn around $20 per hour. In short, Wonder is a great opportunity for those who appreciate the process of conducting research rather than just looking for a quick buck.

ThredUp

  • If you are like many of us and are constantly getting items you never use or only wore once but are still in good condition, then you can put them to good use through ThredUp.
  • This is an online consignment site where you can sell used clothing and accessories. Similarly, if you are a frequent traveler, there is an opportunity to sell your extra hotel accommodations, airline tickets, and more to ThredUp in the form of an Airbnb listing or a vacation rental. The money earned on these listings will be credited back into your account on the site.
  • This e-commerce website appeals to thrifty folks looking to make money and sell their clutter for cash, with the phrase “secondhand clothes, firsthand pleasure.”.
  • Women’s and children’s clothing are available at the online secondhand store.
  • It works like this: you send your clothes in a ThredUp bag with a prepaid postage label, and ThredUp determines the value.
  • They’re seeking quality garments and well-known brands, and keep in mind that if your products aren’t accepted, you’ll be charged a price.
  • So, if you have clothes that would be better suited for a yard sale, host one. ThredUp, on the other hand, allows you to sell high-quality clothing that you no longer want and may even pay you enough to acquire new threads.

Swap.com

  • If you are in search of an easy way to sell your unwanted products, then the TradeSwap website will be an ideal website to sell your unwanted products.
  • On TradeSwap, you can sell your unwanted product on many different platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Gumtree, eBay Motors, eBay Fashion, Amazon Marketplace, and more.
  • Swap is an online consignment store similar to Threadup. Sway will sell your worn clothes, toys, and games after you send them in.
  • When it comes to how much you can make, the website adds that if an item is priced under $10, you’ll get a 30% credit to use on Swap.com or a cash refund of 20% of the sale price. If your item sells for between $10 and $20, you’ll get a 50% credit or a 40% cash refund. If it sells for more than $20, you’ll get a 70% credit or a 60% cash payment.
  • It’s more convenient than, for instance, selling on Facebook Marketplace, where you usually have to meet someone in person to give off an item. Apart from gathering items in your home and placing them in a prepaid box supplied to you, the process is rather simple.

Gazelle

  • Gazelle is an online marketplace where sellers and buyers connect. Buyers can access a list of items for sale and sellers can list an item for sale with the chance of getting a quick buy.
  • Before listing an item, the seller will be provided with a quote from the buyer. The seller then needs to decide if the buyer is a potential buyer and if it’s a good deal or not.
  • The seller then can edit and post the item for sale. The buyer has 30 days to place their order and if they haven’t done so in that period, they will have a chance to get it listed again.
  • You can sell your devices here if you have an old cellphone or other equipment (think iPads and PCs). For your device, the website will make you a cash offer. If you agree, packaging materials will be delivered to you.
  • Gazelle will cover the shipping charges, and you will receive a check, a gift card, or cash deposited to your PayPal account.
  • You won’t make a fortune, but it’s better than having unneeded equipment sit on a shelf collecting dust – and selling it is considerably better for the environment than throwing it out in a landfill.

  1. There were several sites I had never heard of and which I’d like to check out now. I think I created a profile with Upwork over a year ago and then forgot about it … Do you think I could re-do it and still get gigs or would it look bad for potential clients that I didn’t log in for such a long time?
I also created a profile on Fiver, but I always seem to get stuck with it. I was asked to do an English proficiency test which I passed with over 95% and somehow I still can’t continue, I think it’s a bug in their system, so I gave up on that, but perhaps one day I should make time for it again and see if it can be fixed.
Wonder seems like a good site too. It’s not like those survey sites, is it? You have to answer questions and give longer explanations, right?
I’m also going to check out TaskRabbit.
Thanks for all these great tips! I’m working on making money from home, especially now in these times of the pandemic. I want to quit my job and exclusively work online (although I could run some errands through TaskRabbit as well).

    • Hi Christine,
Thank you so much for your comment. I’m glad you were able to get some information from it. On Upwork, I’m not sure if clients can see when you logged in last. I think it would be fine. With Fiverr, you might need to contact their tech support team. Perhaps when you log in again it will work out. I have signed up for that, but have not taken the test. I’ve been so busy it’s hard to get something else on my to-do list. It seems like our days just go by so fast. With Wonder (askwonder.com) that is mostly for research or reviews and not surveys. I think TaskRabbit is a good idea. So many times I’ve needed someone to do small jobs that I just couldn’t do anymore. However, where we live now, out in the country, they don’t have service. Who knows, it may grow into that. But it’s a help to those who can get the service.
Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate it.
      Have a great evening,

  2. Hi Connie,
Thanks for sharing the legitimate money-making opportunities on the internet.
Working online has the advantage that you no need to report anyone and work while you travel. I’m quite familiar with Fiver and Upwork. There are a lot of online gigs available. I even signed up and tried a few. In my opinion, it’s quite competitive for beginners. Instead, Wealthy Affiliate is the better option to start an online business. It’s the legitimate one and good for the newbies.

    • Hi Kavitha,
Thanks so much for your comment. I agree with you, as Wealthy Affiliate has been the best for me. The training is extensive and it just keeps going. There is always so much to learn. I’ve been through some traings that were not legit and they got me nowhere after spending so much money and time. It’s comforting when you know you’re at the right place.
